Involving younger people as volunteers has many benefits for both the organisations and the young people involved. Lots of people think that teenagers and people in their twenties are not interested in volunteering. This is not our experience – plenty of younger people are interested in volunteering. They may need some extra help from us to find the right volunteering opportunity and for the organisation adjust slightly. Our colleagues at Cork Volunteer Centre have developed a useful toolkit on involving young people in volunteering.
