Volunteer management tip of the month -

Prepare for emergencies.

Collect details of an emergency contact person for every volunteer and ask if they have any medical issues you need to be aware of in an emergency, so that you can tell an ambulance crew.

Ensure your volunteers know your emergency procedures and make sure they are included in fire drills etc. Think about the risks of their role and what equipment and training they need to do it safely. This could be something as simple as providing gloves for litter collecting.
