Welcome to the October newsletter from Monaghan Volunteer Centre. The evenings are drawing in now and community and voluntary groups around Co. Monaghan are in full swing after summer breaks. It’s a great time to find a new volunteer role. We only have space for a few here, but you can find lots more at Search Volunteer Roles

Camphill Community have a great opportunity for anyone who has an interested in horses or horse riding, spending time outdoors and helping other people.  Horse Riding Support

For anyone free in Castleblayney on Thursday evenings, Failte Isteach need volunteers to help with English conversation classes for migrants. No experience needed and this role really does help new arrivals integrate into Monaghan life. Failte Isteach

Monaghan Volunteer Centre would like some new members for our steering group. We would like to hear from anyone with an interest in volunteering. We would particularly welcome those with a disability or migrants. Steering Group Information

Helping Hands, the odd jobs service for older people is seeking new volunteers around the County and especially in Clones and Newbliss Helping Hands Volunteers

In Clones and Carrickmacross volunteer befrienders are needed to help Syrian refugee families settle in. Training & support provided for volunteers. Syrian Befriending Project

Free on Saturday mornings? How about being a steward with Monaghan Town Park Run? Get out and about in beautiful Rossmore Park and help others get fit, while getting a little bit of exercise yourself too. Park Run

The MID/CAWT Community Health Plan needs some volunteers to meet with a community health rep and answer a questionnaire about wellness and lifestyle. The meeting will take about 30 minutes. The community health rep can also help you find ways to improve your wellness & lifestyle if you want.  Find out more at Health Plan

Volunteer Management Tip of the Month

If your organsiation works with children it is legally required to have Child Protection measures in place. Find out more and get basic online training on the Tusla website at Children First
