County Monaghan Volunteer Awards Open for Nominations

County Monaghan Volunteer Awards Open for Nominations

Peace Link board members Marie and Adam, Lifetime Achievement Winner Marie McQuillan and Volunteer of the Year 2022 Christina Weldon

Monaghan Volunteer Centre and Monaghan Integrated Development launched the 2023 Co. Monaghan Volunteers Awards on Monday 4th September. The launch event took place at the Westenra Hotel in Monaghan and was attended by the 2023 winners. It was a chance for Volunteer Centre staff to catch up with last year’s winners and hear about their most recent voluntary activities. The winners also handed back their perpetual trophies, ready to pass on to the 2023 winners.

These awards recognise and celebrate the efforts and achievements of volunteers and voluntary organisations across County Monaghan. There are three categories; Volunteer of the Year, Lifetime Achievement and Volunteer Group of the Year. We  hope to receive a broad selection of nominations from across the county to recognise both experienced volunteers and those who have taken up volunteering more recently. This year the winners will be announced at an event in the Garage Theatre in Monaghan on Sunday 12th November. All nominees will be invited and their contributions celebrated at the awards ceremony.

The awards have been held annually since 2007. Winners from the past few years have included volunteers from sports clubs, heritage groups, older peoples groups, disability groups and many more.

If you are involved with a non-profit organisation that involves volunteers, a nomination for the County Monaghan Volunteer Awards is a fantastic way to say thank you and show appreciation for their hard work and dedication. There will also be prizes for the winning group and individual winners and all nominees will be invited to the awards event on Sunday 12th November at the Garage Theatre.
