Hello everyone and welcome to our September Newsletter. 

Tip of the Month: It doesn’t cost to say thank you 

It’s National Volunteering Week and this year it’s all about thanking volunteers. This can happen in so many ways, it can be as simple as a thank you text, email or card, a birthday card or volunteer awards; anything that lets volunteers know that they are appreciated.  



Youth Work Volunteers in Carrickmacross – Cavan and Monaghan branch of Youth Work Ireland are seeking volunteers to help out at Carrickmacross Youth Cafe. More here:


First Responders in Castleblayney – Castleblayney Community First Responders are seeking volunteers to join up, both first responders and committee members are required. More here:

Meals on Wheels Volunteers – This can be a really enjoyable volunteer role which provides practical help to people who need support. Volunteers are being sought at various locations around the County including Carrickmacross, Castleblayney, Clones and Monaghan. 


Returning to Volunteering Safely is a guide produced by Volunteer Ireland to volunteer organisations who are in the processing reopening. This guide provides practical advice for organisations to put measures in place that will allow volunteering to resume safely and prevent the spread of COVID-19. Find the guide here:


County Monaghan Volunteer Awards 2020 – On Monday we announced the award nominees on our social media channels. Congratulations to all those nominated and thank you to everyone who took the time to submit a nomination. Winners will be announced this Thursday in the Northern Standard and on our social media. 


Garda Vetting Training – if your organisation would like to start using the Garda Vetting Services of Monaghan Volunteer Centre get in touch to discuss the options available and the training required  


First Aid Training – we are planning to run this training for volunteers, if you or an organisation you are involved with would like to take part get in touch
