Minister Humphreys Encourages Nominations for County Monaghan Volunteer Awards

Minister Heather Humphreys of the Department of Department of Rural and Community Development has encouraged people to nominate individuals and groups for the County Monaghan Volunteer Awards.
The awards take place annually and seek to recognise the efforts and achievements of volunteers and voluntary groups in Co. Monaghan. Volunteers have always been at the heart of community life but the last few months in particular have shown how volunteers will responded immediately and selflessly in a time of need.
The awards shine a light on lots of different types of volunteering so please nominate those who were volunteering before Covid-19 arrived, those whose volunteering continued throughout the crisis and those who began volunteering as a result of the pandemic.
The awards are a fantastic part of the work that takes place here in the Volunteer Centre, it’s a positive experience for everyone involved and we are looking forward to seeing what this year brings!
