Garda vetting training for organisations working with children or vulnerable adults that want to use our vetting service will take place on Wednesday 4th March at 7pm in Monaghan Town. The training will suit anyone taking on the role of vetting officer or joining the vetting committee. Not sure if you need to vet or not? Call us to discuss. Contact Sinéad at 047 72191 or

The Monaghan Town St. Patrick’s Day Parade on 17th March needs volunteers to get involved. Lovely one off role for anyone who wants to get involved in a local event. PARADE

Piosa Ceoil are looking for volunteer musicians/dancers to perform for older people in nursing homes. Flexible role with no long term commitment needed. MUSIC

Teach na Daoine Family Resource Centre has an interesting research volunteer role available, which can mainly be done from home, with occasional meetings. RESEARCHER

The Drop Inn Ministries Charity Shop in Monaghan Town has volunteer roles available on Tuesdays and Thursdays. SHOP

Foroige would love to meet both men and women interested in training as Big Brother/Big Sister volunteer mentors for young people. Find out more at BIGS

Blayney Academy FC has three volunteer roles available at present. Only the coach needs soccer skills. COACH

Carrickmacross News
We have had lots of new registrations from the Carrick area recently, so here’s a special section just for you this month!

Sosad in Carrickmacross have a reception volunteer role available for someone with excellent spoken and written English and strong communications skills. RECEPTION

MID would like a volunteer to help run a walking group on Wednesday mornings for one hour in Carrickmacross. WALK

A reminder that our outreach service runs in Carrickmacross Library on the second Monday of each Month from 11 to 1. Next date 9th March.

A public meeting will take place in Carrickmacross Workhouse, Shercock Road on Wednesday 4th March at 8pm. This meeting will discuss setting up a Community First Responder (CFR) Scheme in the area. CFR’s respond to emergencies while awaiting the Ambulance Service. NO Experience needed – full training is provided.
