Volunteer Roles

Sosad in Carrickmacross would love to hear from a qualified counsellor who can volunteer a couple of hours per week to help people bereaved by suicide and people who feel depressed and/or suicidal. Sosad Counsellor

Sosad would also like to hear from people who could take on running a fundraising event for them. Maybe you are planning to run your first 10k or marathon and looking for a local charity to donate funds to? Or maybe you would enjoy running a table quiz or cake sale? Fundraiser

The HSE Leisure Buddies initative pairs up each volunteer with someone who has an intellectual disability. They spend an hour or two per month together doing their chosen activity. For example, we know one pair who go to the gym and then for coffee afterwards. Find out more at Buddy

Did you know Carrickmacross has a youth café? Youthers would welcome some adult volunteers who are interested in assisting youth workers to deliver youth programmes. This includes talking with and forming positive relationships with young people, and helping with group work. Various afternoons/evenings available. Youth Cafe

If you have two hours to spare to volunteer your time the Oesophageal Cancer Fund would love to hear from you, as they need your help on Lollipop Day 2020 which falls across Friday 28th and Saturday 29th February. Find out more at Lollipop

Teach na Daoine Family Resource Centre has volunteer roles available helping with the homework club and with a youth eco project
